Hi, I’m Jo and this is a little maternity leave project for myself. It is something that I have always wanted to do but working full-time in retail it has always been pushed on the back burner. Now I have a little more free time, or as much as I can get with a little one in tow I thought I would grab the metaphorical bull and crack on!
I live in West Yorkshire with my husband Matthew. We have been married since 2015 but had been together since 2007. We met when a mutual friend introduced us through our love of music when she invited us to a Bowling for Soup gig. We stayed together through my three years at university and in 2011 Matthew got down on one knee (kind of) and proposed on Boxing Day surrounded by some of his family. Shortly after that we bought our first home together, where we still currently live. The house was a bit of a fixer-upper and slowly over the next 18 months, while living with Matt’s parents, took on the huge project of renovating our house. Once that was finished and we were moved in, it was wedding planning time! In summer 2013 we booked our dream venue of Waterton Park Hotel for two years time. I loved our wedding being so far away as it meant that I could spend the time planning and organising our day just how I wanted it, and it also meant that I could make all our stationary myself with a little help from a few bridesmaids.
Fast forward two years, our wedding day was just amazing, from arriving at the hotel the evening before, all through our day and even the day after. We were then on our way on our honeymoon to Barbados. We stayed in the new Sandals resort at St. Lawrence Gap. the hotel was amazing, the weather was amazing. We couldn’t have wished for a more relaxing, chilled out, stress free environment for our honeymoon. It was nice to spend some time together too as planning the wedding meant that even though we were together most of the time, it wasn’t quality time to just be a couple. After getting back home and feeling very jet lagged, life slowly returned back to normal, aside from me learning to become Mrs. Morgan and Matthew learning how to look after a wife.
Another year had passed by now and we had decided that it would be nice to think about expanding our family and in November we got the happy news that we were expecting our first little one. This is where my blog picks up. I am aiming them to mainly be about our experiences as a little family and seeing how we grow and develop along with how our little pudding Paige grows and develops. In the 12 weeks that we have been a family it has been, difficult, exciting, emotional and so much more. You don’t think you can love anyone as much as you love your child when they arrive and each day your love for them grows.
I really hope you enjoy reading about our little family and keep your eyes peeled for new posts!!
